Athletics was a great day filled with fun and friendly competition where everyone got to give it their all. 

There were events including Long Jump, High Jump, Discus, Shot Put and Sprints. Long Distance was optional for everyone, everyone who decided to participate completed the entire 1200 km to their best abilities.   

It was 29°C in the scorching sun at lunchtime and everyone was cooking, still everybody gave it their best effort after lunch and we enjoyed the lemonade ice blocks!

All students were looking vibrant wearing their house colours. Māpuna in Silver, Hīrere in Blue and Hīwai in Green. Every team had their own chant and all the teams had a competition to see who's chant would get the loudest while watching their teams sprint. 

To end the day the whole school participated in an end of day spiral relay which was lots of fun!   Thank you to Miss Currey (Head of Sport), Peng (Caretaker) and all the teachers who helped on the day.
