A Message from Steve Turnbull, Brockville Schools new Principal.
Thank you for the Warm Welcome!
Kia ora Whanau
It has been a busy though enjoyable two weeks at Brockville School. I would like to thank all the tamariki, staff and whanau for the warm welcome at the mihi whakatau on the first Monday of term. It has been great to meet everyone and get involved in Brockville School life.
Thanks for supporting your child/ren with bringing their togs and towels on swimming days and also to whanau for helping us at the pool.
We are a country surrounded by sea and with plenty of rivers and lakes so being able to swim is an essential skill for everyone to have. There are also many sports and pastimes in New Zealand that involve being on or in water. Please continue to encourage your child/ren to take part in weekly lessons we want them all in the pool. Teaching children to swim is not a strong focus after Year 8.
Great to see four futsal teams competing every week at the Edgar centre. Good luck to all our Year 5 and 6 students who will compete in the West Zone athletics at the Caledonian on Tuesday. Remember to bring your own lunch and drink bottle!
Have a great long weekend. I hope you are able to spend some quality time as a family.
Nga mihi
Steve Turnbull
Principal/Tumuaki
