A Word from the Principal
Kia Ora, Talofa, Welcome.
I am very excited to have been awarded a Principals Sabbatical this year. Essentially this allows me to have a term away from school for study and refreshment. I will be doing some research into ‘school leadership and culture in a digital age’ during this time.
I hope to be able to build on the many great things we have here at Bromley but also learn from many other leading educators on this subject as well.
The timing for the sabbatical is flexible but at this stage I will be away for the last few weeks of this term and a section of term three . Ms Nicholls will assume my role and I imagine that there will be no disruption to the running of the school during my absence.
Please also be aware that:
Bromley School will be CLOSED WEDNESDAY 29 MAY FOR THE TEACHERS STRIKE.
We apologise again for any inconvenience that this causes however the long term benefits to education in the future will be significant if teachers work conditions are significantly improved. There is a wealth of information on the internet should you wish to have any more information.
Last week we held a Twilight Conference where 70 teachers from schools around Christchurch registered to view all that was going on at Bromley related to the new Digital Curriculum. There were a number of our children demonstrating and most of our teachers ran separate sessions. The response was overwhelmingly positive and a great endorsement of all that occurs here in the classrooms. There will soon be a few clips on the website if you are interested.
Regards
Scot Kinley
