Each week we will put a spotlight on a particular area within our kura

This term me and 7 other kids have had the opportunity to be able to be part of a dance group with tutors who are in the Tama Mai Saute dance academy. The Tama Mai Saute Academy dance crew come in every Tuesday, and they teach us a dance that we have to preform at the end of the year. We are very lucky to have Pamela and Sala who will be our tutor for the year.

Around every 3 weeks we meet with the Tama Mai Saute dance crew at the school of Te Waka Unua to practice and learn the dance with other schools like Linwood College, Whitau, Bamford and Te Waka Unua altogether, and at the end of the year we all get together and perform the same dance at a festival! We are very privileged to be able to work with the Tama Mai Saute dance Academy and different schools and to perform somewhere we can show our leadership roles! We will also be able to represent our school, family, culture, and of course ourselves.
