A Word from the Principal

Scot Kinley - February 10, 2023

Kia Ora, Talofa Lava, Welcome,

I just wanted to send out a brief message before next week’s full newsletter...

The year has begun positively with classes well underway with their programmes.

Hopefully your child has settled in well and is building strong relationships with their teacher and classmates. If you do have any concerns please contact your child's teacher to discuss these sooner rather than later.

The school calendar is filling up fast and there are lots of amazing learning opportunities planned for our tamariki which is really exciting.

In other news the school now has a fleet of three vans , able to transport a whole class on class trips. We are so grateful for the generous support of Dave Diggs, Rata Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Joanne McGreggor to enable this to happen.

With the removal of decile ratings and the introduction of Equity funding we have some more funding to support learning at school.

The Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of an extra teacher to lower the class numbers with some of this money . We are sure this will help our students and teachers greatly as crowded classrooms are not conducive to good learning.

There is an upcoming teacher union meeting on Thursday 2nd March, which will mean an early finish that day for teachers to attend. We will send out further information in regards to this next week.

We welcome Ruby Pook and Holly Webster to our staff and are excited to get to know them over this year. We also welcome back Molly Van Hart and Courtney Gardner.

Here's to a positive productive year
