Gaga Pit

Luka Joseph-Elliot —

A huge thank you to Phil Nicol, Jimmy Saunders and Carl Sheppard for building our hugely popular gaga pit!

Our new Gaga pit is where you will find most of the school at playtimes and lunchtimes! It's an amazing and popular game in Bromley. It's so crazy that there’s barely any one playing on the playgrounds any more, before we had the Gaga pit the playgrounds were packed with kids.

We need to separate juniors and seniors in the Gaga pit now because of how packed it’s getting. The seniors only get one round while the juniors get two. We're trying to stop the seniors from cheating so we can teach the juniors how to play the right way.

We have had some problems with people following the rules and we are trying to change that by having role models show how to play correctly, we have also gone over the rules in our assembly.

Most people don’t know what Gaga dodgeball is so I will tell you. Gaga dodgeball is a game where you have one ball in a big ring with about fifteen plus people but you can also have two or more. The way the game works is simple if the ball hits you below the knees you are out. Also if you go on your knees on purpose you are out and if you use the wall to jump higher you are also out. You have to try and get people below the knees by hitting the ball with your hand (you can’t throw or kick it).

Maybe one of your kids play it? You should ask them about it!
