Apple iPad conference
Hear how some of our digital tuakana presented at an Apple iPad conference
At the end of term 1 four children from our Digital Tuakana got chosen to share about our digital learning at Bromley school at a special Apple event. The event took place at a hotel in a massive auditorium place. The four children were Arona,Caleb,Milla and Atarau assisted by the Digital Tuakana teacher, Mandy Dempsey.
When Bromley shared it started off with Mandy introducing Bromley school and then the Bromley school students did the rest.
Firstly Atarau welcomed all the people in the crowd in Maori. Secondly, Milla talked about how the DT (Digital Tuakana) are learning how we are using computational thinking or as the DT say “Thinking like a computer” to learn how to code. She also talked about how they are learning to code through dance.
Next Arona talked about how The DT are using their knowledge of algorithms and debugging to solve problems in code. Debugging is fixing problems within the code. After that Caleb talked about something the DT are REALLY excited about, they’re learning to become app designers.
After that Mandy spoke and Atarau said “Thank you for listening” in both English and Maori.
