On Wednesday, we were really fortunate to have Dean and the fire crew from Woolston Fire Station come and teach us about Fire Safety. We had a session in class talking about matches, lighters and smoke alarms. We also practiced evacuating our classroom by getting down and crawling out. We learnt all about the Fire Truck and the safety equipment used, and also got to experience what it would be like evacuating in a real fire. This would also be a great time to check your smoke alarms, check all lighters and matches are out of reach of children, and discuss with them how to get out of your house in a fire and organise the safe meeting place.
