The Kākano Team

Lindi Newth —

Each week a team within the school will be sharing what has been happening in their area of the school.

It has been so nice catching up with our all our old and new students and their families over the past few weeks.

We had our first Kākano team assembly last week and we were really excited to welcome 18 new students, who have just started school for the first time in Kākano 1. We also had one new student in Kākano 3. So a very warm welcome to you all and your families.

Our team assemblies at the moment are a really informal time for the Kākano children and teachers to get together, sing songs, and show off some classwork. We want to refine this routine before inviting our parents. Thank you for your patience around this.

Tinker Time, or Learning Through Play, is in full swing with beautiful designs being created in Kākano 1, roads being collaboratively constructed in Kākano 2, and lego Beyblades being designed and used in competitions in Kākano 3. This is a great way to get to know our new classmates, learn more about each other and their interests, and practice our Bromley School values and be Creative, be Caring, be Curious, be Courageous, and be Connected.

The Junior students have also been busy personalising their classrooms with art, visual Mihi’s and alphabet and number posters, which they will use as a reference for the rest of the year. Come on in and check them out!
