A Word from the Principal

Scot Kinley —

Kia Ora, Talofa Lava, Welcome.

I am excited that we remain in Level 2 and that we are able to continue a modicum of normality .

As of next week we will not be physically monitoring the entrances but request that if you haven't already registered for the schools contact tracing that you use the NZ Government's Q R Code at the gates. We ask that parents still remain outside the classrooms.

We do continue to function with minimal contact with outside organisations and have increased our cleaning regime. School wide assemblies are now postponed and all other meetings over 100 as per the Governments regulations.

I am pleased to see that here have been a number of landscaping jobs completed around the school. The new scooter track in particular is an exciting addition to our playground but we are having a few teething problems with it.

My grandson ( aged 3) and myself ( aged not 3) trialled the track and neither of us crashed ( Well I did but later in the morning when I went to sit down).

We are unfortunately having a few crashes with our children. All classes have been instructed and the challenges of the cycle track have been covered. We are reminding the children to slow down on tight corners and not overtake slower riders.

The track is regularly swept for gravel and obstacles as well. Please remind your child if they want to ride the bike track to take care and not push the boundaries of safety.

We had 4 Teacher Only Days scheduled for this year but due to COVID we have had to postpone 2 of them until next year. The following will still go ahead as planned

TEACHER ONLY DAY on Friday 4 September and Friday 16 October.

Regards

Scot Kinley
