Digital Technologies

Our approach to eLearning

What do we mean by Digital Technology?

  • Helping to develop digitally capable thinkers, producers and creators
  • Teaching kids HOW digital technologies works (computer science principles)
  • And how they can use that knowledge to solve problems
  • So they become creative innovators of digital solutions

MoE (2017)

At Bromley School we believe eLearning provides incredible opportunities for children to engage in PROVOCATIONS, CREATE, SHARE and EVALUATE their learning. We endeavour through a blended approach to give students access to technologies that allow them to develop skills in collaboration and expand their learning outside of the classroom.

Learning to Program

Our students are provided with opportunities to grow their understanding of how digital technologies work. This includes learning to program their own digital creations. As well as offering a weekly club for our coding enthusiasts, teachers are integrating coding and computer science across the curriculum.

Access to Tools

Our students have access to iMacs and iPads fully equipped with carefully selected apps that enrich their learning. Students in years' 3-6 are also able to bring along their own iPads through our BYOD programme. Interested parents are welcome to request an information pack from our school office.

Programmes

Running alongside classroom programmes that aim to integrate digital technologies across the curriculum, we also offer a variety of special interest groups, including coding clubs, digital cultural groups, a media team and student-led ICT workshops that target the use of iPad to enhance learning.
