It is that time of year, where we start the sign-ups for the Children’s University (CU) programme. Children’s University will be open for students from year 3 upwards.
Students involved in this programme will participate in a range of activities in order to gain credit towards certificates/graduation. At no point during these activities will students be graded, rather they will be rewarded for the time and effort they put in. To qualify for graduation, at the end of the year, children need to have completed 30-35 hours of extra learning, sports or activities.
We have found over the past few years the most successful students that end up graduating, have these qualities:
Willing to do extra-curricular activities and learning outside of school.
Have a caregiver who can support tasks and will drive their child to different learning destinations.
Access to the internet and have a device that can be used to complete tasks.
Able to complete some activities independently.
Have a high attendance level.
Willing to give up break times when it is needed for hours to be stamped or completed.
