Team Kiwi have been learning how to write a persuasive text. Here are two examples. What do you notice about the structure and content of these well-formed pieces?

I am writing to tell you that dogs are better than cats. 

My first reason is that I walked about three dogs when I was tired and afterwards I felt about 99% better and it also improved my fitness.  

My next reason is that dogs are more active and cats sleep most of the time! So dogs get fit, get fresh air and keep you entertained.  Cats are so busy sleeping that they get less fresh air, and fitness and are pretty boring.  My grandparents once had a cat, and all it did for four hours was sleep! 

My final reason is that dogs show they like you by barking, licking and always greeting you when you get home! My dog loves to jump on me when I get home.

That is why I think dogs are better than cats.

I am writing to tell you why I think cats are better than dogs!

My first reason is that cats are much quieter and much calmer than dogs.  Dogs normally bark a lot louder than when cats meow.  

My second reason is that you don't need to walk cats!  Unlike dogs, cats do not need as much exercise as dogs do.

My final reason is that you don't need to wash cats because cats do this all on their own.  Dogs need to be cleaned.  

That is why I think cats are better than dogs.
