How We Communicate

Liz Rhodes - May 8, 2023

Keeping you connected to our school is imperative and a way of doing this is making sure our lines of communication are really effective, so that we can maximise our partnership for your child’s education.

There are some key ways we have of celebrating all that is happening within the life of our kura and also for informing you about key activities. We have 4 ways of communicating with our community -

Hero
This is our Student Management System.
We use Hero as our main form of communication to our school community.
It can be used to access your child's learning, report an absence, read newsletters, check term dates, order school lunches and check your child's finance page. It is also used to send reminders about important activities and alerts regarding any event cancellations.

Seesaw

This gives you a real time glimpse of your child's learning and allows students to independently share photo's, video's, drawings and other media to caption an audience.
Your child's classroom teacher will send you login details for this.

Newsletter
The school newsletter is compiled and sent to our school community on a Wednesday afternoon every fortnight via our Student Management System - HERO. It is another key way we communicate events and celebrate successes of both our students and our school.
Our newsletter is also available to view on our school website.
It is vital that you read this to keep informed about school life.
Our syndicate newsletters are sent out at the beginning of each term. These can also be found on our website under Syndicate Information.

Website

Our website is used to inform you of ‘up to the minute’ information such as whether the cross country is on or has been postponed, reminders for events, etc.
It also has other important information about our school.

Class teachers will also use emails, Seesaw and notices to inform you of specific events or class trips that are being organised, along with any associated costs.
