Context

Brooklyn School (Wellington)’s strategic priorities for improving outcomes for learners are:• prepare our tamariki for an extraordinary world ahead• connect and engage with our parents and wider community• grow our teachers as learners to develop their capabilities for teaching and learning in the future. You can find a copy of the school’s strategic and annual plan on Brooklyn School (Wellington)’s website.ERO and the school are working together to evaluate the effectiveness of culturally responsive practice.

The rationale for selecting this evaluation is:

• to ensure that culturally responsive practice is authentically embedded in the school’s systems andprocesses• for leaders and teachers to engage with all parents as they focus on equity and excellence outcomes forall learners.• to support the school’s focus on continuous improvement.

The school expects to see an improvement for all children through greater equity of achievement outcomes.
