Congratulations to Jennifer Makitānara and Kate Jackson who last week were recognised at the NZEI Te Riu Roa Wellington Branch End of Year Graduation and Retirement Function 2023 on becoming fully registered teachers, and they were welcomed as full and active members of the teaching profession.

Information Evenings

Thank you so much for taking the time to come along to our Information evenings last week, the slide presentations have been shared with the relevant groups. We look forward to continuing to work alongside you and your tamariki in 2024.

Staff Update

Anita Patel has now gone on maternity leave and we are looking forward to meeting her new addition to her whānau and wish her all the best. Louise Seaton has stepped in to teach alongside Kate Jackson in the Kiwi Roroa team. Louise has been a regular reliever and knows many of our tamariki across the school.

Kiwi Mini Market Day

On Friday 1st December the Kiwi Syndicate will be having a mini market day. Come along and support your tamariki’s end-of-inquiry projects by bringing some $1- $2 coins to spend on products/games. They have been making items such as bookmarks, nature jewellery, plant pots and instruments that will be for sale. There will also be games that you can play.

All the money raised at the market day will go to the SPCA, a charity chosen by your tamariki. We are making Brooklyn Primary School a better place by giving back to others in need at Christmas time.

New Entrant Visit Day

This will take place on Tuesday 5 December from 9.15am - 10.15am for new entrant students who have enrolled with us and whose birthdays are in December 2023, January and early February 2024. We look forward to welcoming you for a visit to our school.

Community End Of Year Event

Please do join us on the evening of the 13th December at school. We will be hosting an evening of singing and connection. Please bring along your family dinner and something to sit on like a picnic blanket. We will start this event at 5pm and it will run until around 6pm.

Reporting

Your child's report will be released for your viewing on the afternoon of 11th December. This will be through the Hero app. We will be sending home more information regarding the reports on Friday 8th December.

School Finishes  - End of Year

School finishes Tuesday 19th December at 12.30pm. Please could you arrange for your child to be picked up at this time. 

We are looking forward to all the activities we have planned for the rest of the year.
