Powhiri or Mihi whakatau
Each term we hold a School Powhiri or Mihi whakatau to welcome new students and their families to Brooklyn School.
Kapa Haka
Kapa Haka is offered as a cultural activity for students at Brooklyn School.
Matua Breach leads the group with his wealth of knowledge and skills.
The Kapa Haka group participate in the Annual Wellington Kapa Haka Festival.
Matariki evening
A highlight of the school year is our chance to acknowledge Matariki with a fantastic evening of events! We are grateful for the many parents and staff who make this event possible. The date for this event is 3rd July 2024 (postponement 4 July). We like to integrate this celebration into our learning in the classroom.
Whanau Hui
Our whānau huis are held once a term. Thank you to Matua Breach for helping to run this event.
Stay tuned for more information on dates and times.
Artsplash & Dancesplash
Every year Brooklyn School participates in the Artsplash and Dancesplash events held at the Michael Fowler Events Centre in Term Three. The students share their singing and dancing, working with a number of other schools and performing during the evening to their parents and friends.
If you would like your child to 'take up the challenge' watch out for information on signing up.
End-of-Year Carols
Another highlight to finish off the school year is the carols evening.
Families from our school community gather together for this social event. Bring a picnic blanket, some dinner and have a sing-along!
