Tena koutou e ngā whānau o te kura.
Good afternoon everyone,
I start by congratulating all of our ‘Small School Athletics’ and ‘Kowai Athletics’ competitors. It was extremely pleasing to see the fantastic efforts that you all put in to these events during the last week and a half. A large number of our tamariki demonstrated their natural ability and competitive spirit across the various disciplines. Best of luck to those athletes who placed first at the Kowai competition who will now go on to the Canterbury competition held later this month on the 27th November.
All of our students are currently receiving instruction and skill development for swimming through the WaiSwim programme at Mainpower Amberley Swimming Pool. This continues through to next week as well.
Our Year 0-3 students will participate in the ‘Kowai Sport Spectacular’ next Wednesday at the Amberley Domain. This is a fun-filled event for our junior tamariki to participate in and also one whereby parents and caregivers can join in with all the fun.
Next year, I would like to advise you that Mr Hobson will not be returning to Broomfield School as the Broomfield School BoT’s have extended his application for leave through 2025. We are in the process of filling this vacancy and when we have appointed, I will then be in a position to share classes, year levels and their respective teachers.
Some important upcoming dates to consider! Our End of Year Assembly/ Celebration will be held at the Omihi Community Hall on Monday the 16th December. The following day, Tuesday the 17th December, our annual full-school trip to Hanmer Springs takes place. More details will be shared closer to this event.
A big thank you to both Wendy Miller and Anne Atkins who are both donating their time, expertise and energy helping our junior tamariki with their reading and literacy skills. We certainly appreciate all of your efforts!
Good luck to all of our students and their families who are competing at the upcoming Christchurch Show.
Wishing you all a relaxing show weekend.
