Magnificent Maths

Jo Richards —

Kōwhai Class have made a super start to the term, working collaboratively, persevering and showing belonging to each other as they revisit playing different Maths games.

Card games are such an awesome resource when learning about Maths, so Kōwhai worked in pairs learning about how to sequence numbers with a game called "five in a row".  The object is to get five cards in sequential order, easier said than done when it's a game of chance!

Tamariki also practiced adding numbers, with the board game "four in a row".  You have to try to cover four numbers in a row that you've added together but sometimes the opposition block you and it can take lots of perseverance to cover four in a row.

Ask your children how to play our games and see how good you are!
