Hello Autumn, Goodbye Summer

Aisling O'Connor —

All the signs of the season inspired Rimu to craft Autumn poems.

Our students reflected on what they would miss about summer and contrasted this with autumnal activities. The poems were published and decorated with ripped paper collage. They are available to view in the staff room. Here is a selection of poems from Rimu.

Hello- Goodbye

Goodbye, green leaves

Hello, rainy Autumn skies

Goodbye, playing in the warm bubbly rainbow waters

Hello, slippery green grass

Goodbye, multi-coloured ice-cream cake

Hello, hot fires

Goodbye, blue skies

Hello Autumn, we are happy you are here

Hello- Goodbye

Hello, autumn calves

Goodbye, togs and swimming

Hello, dewy grass under my feet

Goodbye, beach waves on me

Hello, crunchy colourful leaves waving in the air

Goodbye, yellow petals on my sunflowers

Hello, dark nights

Goodbye, summer

Hello autumn, I'm glad you are here.

Hello-Goodbye

Hello, Autumn.

Goodbye, sun’s shining rays.

Hello, crispy orange leaves.

Goodbye, warm smooth sand.

Hello, rain dripping from my roof.

Goodbye, swimming in the waves.

Hello, leaves falling from the trees.

Goodbye, summer

Hello Autumn we are glad you are here.

Hello Goodbye

Hello, Autumn

Goodbye, kneeboarding on the lake

Hello, rugby in the wet green grass

Goodbye, swimming in the lake

Hello, crispy leaves falling from the tall trees

Goodbye worm holidays on the lake

Hello, hockey

Goodbye, cricket in the hot summery mornings

Hello, Autumn we are glad you are here.
