Enrolment Zone
Broomfield School - August 18, 2020
The Broomfield Board of Trustees proposes the adoption of the following scheme governing enrolments at Broomfield School on the basis that there is likely to be overcrowding and to avoid such overcrowding.
Enrolments:
Home Zone - All students who live within the home zone described below are entitled to enrol at Broomfield School at any time.
Proof of residence within the home zone will be required. Applicants are entitled to enrol at Broomfield School if their usual place of residence is within the zone which has the following boundaries: - Ram Paddock Rd as far as Stormount, (+ Stringers + Laimore Rds) - Georges Rd (+ Darnley Rd) - Main North Rd from Georges Rd to Watties Rd - Watties Rd - Stanton Rd - Douglas Rd from the cnr of Stantons Rd through Cramptons Bush Rd including Dalberg Rd - Reserve Rd to Lawcock Rd.
Those living on the boundary roads are also entitled to enrol. (A map showing the home zone is available from our school office.)
Out of Zone Enrolments - The Board of Trustees will determine the number of places, which are available at the school, either in general or at a particular level, for students who live outside the home zone.
Applications for enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority: (a) FIRST priority must be given to any applicant who is accepted for enrolment in a special programme run by the school: (b) SECOND priority must be given to any applicant who is the sibling of a current student of the school: (c) THIRD priority must be given to any student who is the sibling of a former student of the school: (d) FOURTH priority must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school: (e) FIFTH priority must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school: (f) SIXTH priority must be given to all other applicants. If there are more applicants in the priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Amendment Act 2000.
