BEES - Broomfield Extra Educational Success
WHAT DOES FUNDRAISING LOOK LIKE AT BROOMFIELD SCHOOL? FRIENDSHIP, FUN AND A SENSE OF COMMUNITY BELONGING
Kia ora parents & caregivers,
Our first BEES (Broomfield Extra Educational Success) meeting of 2023 is to be held on Wednesday 22nd February 7pm, at Broomfield School (classroom TBD). We will be providing drinks & nibbles, and we would love to see you there!
Who are the BEES? The BEES are a group of volunteer parents who work together to raise funds to support Broomfield School, and our tamariki. A photo of us all will appear in the next newsletter, so you know who we are!
Our fundraising events such as the Michael Godfrey Motor Cross, A & P Show Judges Lunches, Online Auction and the Horse Trek need the contribution of the school community, and cannot operate without your help, skills, and ideas.
In 2022, the BEES along with the support of the school community raised $18,000! This money has been given to Broomfield School for the purchase of such items as a new pool fliter/cleaner, structured literacy resource, and the funding of teacher aides to support in classrooms.
All these tangible items are not funded by the Ministry of Education, so our amazing little school needs to continue to fundraise every year!
What can I do to help?
For 2023, we are aiming big and planning various fundraising events throughout the year. We would appreciate it if parents & caregivers volunteer to jump on a subcommittee to help with one event or join the BEES as a committee member. Or if you have a great fundraising event idea, or can offer your specialist skills, please let us know!
We are looking forward to seeing a few new faces at our BEES meeting next week 🙂 Please email karensetz@hotmail.com if you have any questions, or would like to make contact but unable to attend the meeting.
Thanks, Kaz and BEES
