Nikau's Corrugated Iron Art
Nikau have been super busy over term one and two creating landscapes on corrugated iron.
As a class Nikau studied Monet and Van Goghs painting styles. They learnt how to mix colours concentrating on tint and tone. After they chose a landscape they liked they sketched it onto paper, carefully breaking their page into thirds to get the horizon in the correct place. They used a variety of brush techniques to paint onto the paper. When they were happy with their draft paintings they sketch the same landscape onto corrugated iron. (Thanks to David Gibson for painstakingly cutting it out). The children were incredibly patient and worked hard to create amazing pieces of art work that they should be super proud of.
