Wonderful Rimu at Woodend Camp
Last week the Rimu 'rockstars' enjoyed a fun day of teambuilding activities and outdoor challenges at Woodend Christian Camp. The students share their reflections on the day here.
My highlight from our class trip was air rifles because I got to shoot the ducks and also because we took turns. We also worked together nicely. The most challenging thing was the trampoline because it was high, just because it's scary for me. It was challenging also because it goes sideways. Robert Tapper
My highlight from our camp was aero jump because I did a backflip. The most challenging thing for me at Woodend was orienteering because I had to find the posts. It was fun with my friends. Ollie Clark-Hall
My highlight from our trip was the waterslide, aero jump, archery and zipline because they were all fun and refreshing. I liked the waterslide because I went fast. The most challenging thing was archery because I was scared it was going to go into my eyes, but it was worth it because it was fun. Maisie Thomson
My highlight from our day trip was the zipline and the archery because it was fun. The most challenging was archery because I thought it was going to harm my finger. It was terrifying but I got a shot! Marissa Herbert
My highlight from our day at camp was archery because I hit the target three times! I also loved orienteering because we got to run in the forest and find the posts. The most challenging thing for me at Wooodend was the zipline. It looked scary and was very high up. But I gave it my best! Tobias Reveley
My highlight from our day at camp was the waterslide because I had a race with Maisie and we had lots of fun. My fastest way to go down was to go on my back. When I did the water whooshed around me! The most challenging thing for me was the air rifles because the air rifle was heavy so I thought it would hit me in the head. I hit two ducks but I couldn't see through the scope. Avatar Manawatu
My highlight from our day trip was the birthday because it was delicious. I liked everything. It was fun. The most challenging thing for me was air rifles looking through the scope. There was a cross to be on target. Ciaran Kendall
My highlight from our class trip was the flying fox because it was the fastest time of my life. I love it. It was so fun. I had to wear a harness so it will keep me safe. Also a helmet to keep your head safe because your head is important. The most challenging thing for meat Woodend was the zipline because it was high and I don't like being so high up. I gave it a try. It was scary but it turned out very fun. Lexie Preston
My highlight from our day trip was the water slide because it was fun, it was fast and I got wet. The most challenging thing for me was the zipline because I'm scared of heights but I climbed up to the top. Lexi George
My highlight from our day trip was the aero jump because I could bounce higher than on an ordinary trampoline. When I jumped I went very high. The most challenging thing for me at Woodend was archery because I had to pull teh string back very far. I could not hit the target. Ollie Carr
My highlight from our camp was the waterslide. My favourite object was the waterslide because it was fun going down backwards. The challenging thing was archery because I thought the arrow was going to hit my leg but it was fun. Jack Hope-Pearson
The most challenging thing for me at Woodend was zipline because I was scared when I got upon the platform. I did not want to look down. I just wanted to go and fly. Izzy Donnelly
My highlight from our camp was the archery because I shot the wall. I shot a metal duck with an air rifle. I went down teh water slide and I made a big splash. The most challenging thing for me at Woodend was nothing. But the air rifle was very heavy and I could lift it by myself. The bullets were very small. The air rifle was kind of loud. Sam Miller
My highlight from our camp was tramp because you could go as high up as you wanted. The flying fox was fun and the waterslide too. Nilaa Spicer
