Fantastic Fundraising at Michael Godfrey Motocross
There was smiles all around the BBQ as our wonderful Broomfield School Community came together to help support and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Michael Godfrey Motocross at the Stackhouse family farm in Omihi.
It was an early start on Saturday morning, with the only light coming from the massive white events marquee, luckily situated next to our new food site. It was all hands on deck getting set up - tables, bbq trailers, chillers and everything necessary to ensure a successful day serving food to the punters. Within minutes of the BBQ starting up, we'd sold our first bacon and egg bap and the food continued to flow for the rest of the weekend, ensuring we fundraised in excess of $5000 for our new playground!
How lucky that the weather gods were smiling for our first Kings Birthday weekend, as it was one of the sunniest and driest in several years - so sunny races, ended early on Saturday due to sun strike!
The BEES are extremely grateful to the following parents, staff and extended Broomfield whanau who kindly gave up time on their long weekend and made new connections with each other. Our dream team was; Sarah Egden, Karen Setz, Jax and Susie Lee, Jane Egden, William, Austin and Brent Knight, Lexi Smith, Charlotte Belcher, Bex Stone, Bev and Emma Robertson, Suzanne and Michael Vale, Stephen Westcombe, Josh Sutherland, Christine Hodge, Andrew and Annabel McGuckin, Liz Miller, Emma Bradley, Cecilia Latham, Anna Morris, Cindy Arthur, Andrew Kemp, Pete Blyth and Marty Griffiths.
We also need to thank our amazing sponsors and families who generously donated food, services or equipment on the day. A huge thank you to;

Lastly I'd like to thank the amazing BEES subcommittee whom I had the absolute pleasure of working alongside, planning, organising and coordinating a hugely successful weekend. Jo T, Charlotte, Liz A and Nicola, ladies you epitomise our school value of Belonging, thank you for all your mahi!
