Read all about our trip to Bottle Lake Forest this week!

On Wednesday a group of yr 5 - 8 students from Hikers Club travelled to Bottle Lake Forest. Chris, the park ranger, gave us some tips on how to survive if you get lost. We split into groups and made huts out of sticks to see the best. We aren’t quite sure who won yet but it was a great experience for everyone. We even had some volunteers try to eat some huhu grubs. Thomas chewed and swallowed two huhu grubs, Harley ate one and Henry started to eat one but spat it out a few seconds later. After the huhu grub eating, Chris packed up and headed off. Some people decided to stay and look at everyone's huts and a small group went to the fairy house forest which was just down the road. 

Tohu said his favourite part was building the huts. 

Adele said her favourite part was eating her lunch.

Scarlett, Yasi, GG, Maia and a few other people all said that they really enjoyed the building huts. But overall I think everyone had a good time.
