Last week all of the Junior tamariki (year 0 - 3) travelled to Sefton Domain to take part in the annual Sport Spectacular hosted and run by North Canterbury Sport and Recreation Trust.

Broomfield joined Waipara, Leithfield, Sefton and Amberley Kura to participate in sports such as golf, rugby, bowls, hockey, football, cricket and golf -  learning different skills and demonstrating lots of self belief and belonging. Thank you to Mr Kemp, Simon and Mrs Reveley for helping to transport us to Sefton.

Here's what some of our Rimu tamariki thought of the day;

On Wednesday last week, we went to Sefton Domain for Sports Spectacular. My favourite station was Tug Of war and soccer because we versed the adults and we smashed them. At soccer, I versed a good player but eventually, my team scored. At lunch, I ate my food while playing. On the way back I had a sleep.

Art Sports Spectacular there were lots of different types of sports. It was last week on a Wednesday. My favourite stations were the parachute and dodgeball. I liked the parachute because we played cat and mouse. My friend Maisie was a cat and the rest of us were mice and Maisie pulled me under the parachute. I giggled so much. I liked dodgeball so much because I was a roller for most of the round and I liked being a roller.

On Wednesday last week we went to Sefton Domain to play Sports Spectacular. My favourite sports were soccer and snag golf because in golf Jagger and I got 890 points. I liked Snag golf because Elsie (our Mainpower Coach) was there.

My favourite station was tug of war because it was funny when we beat the parents. It was awesome. The people in my team were Nixon, Archie and George.The Mainpower coaches were super nice, awesome and more. The worst thing is that it was burning. I had fun under the tree, eating my lunch.

On Wednesday last week the year zero to three's went to Sports Spectacular on the bus. In my team there was Pippa, Maleah and me. My favourite station was snag golf and I got it on the target a lot of times and I got 300 points.

My first favourite sport was snag golf because it was an amazing sport to try. My second favourite sport is hockey because you just run around and have fun. The best bit about today was I had an amazing time.

There were lots of sports to do. My favourite station was football because I like saving the goal and doing tricks while kicking the ball. We went because they invited us. Tawa and Kowhai went on the white bus and Rimu went on the blue bus with some Kowhai kids.
