Creativity and Uniqueness
Kōwhai akonga have been learning to celebrate each others uniqueness, our creativity and sharing what is important or special to us.
Learning about creativity, our differences and the different ways we learn enabled all Kōwhai learners to make connections with each other, celebrate our differences and recognise we are all special and unique. Kōwhai read the book, Hooray for Fish, which highlights differences and uniqueness. Tamariki drew, painted and cut out their own unique and very creative fish (anything they wanted), mounting it on card to create a 2D fish. They look amazing and we'd love you to come into class to see how fantastic they look.
Kōwhai akonga (learners) were asked to bring into class five items that they loved or were special to them and shared with their peers those items and why they are so important. Kōwhai learnt to create a photo collage by overlapping items on a flat surface and holding an ipad above to create a birds eye view photo - challenging for some and easy for others - which was very creative and helps us to learn more about each other.
Thank you to all whānau for allowing your treasures to come to school for sharing.
