And that's a Wrap!
Jo Richards - April 13, 2022
It's been such an active term of learning we've certainly made the most of the opportunities presented to us. Despite the disruptions and unsettling nature of COVID, every child should feel exceptionally proud of the term they have had.
There are so many highlights - triathlon, swimming, creating our family portraits, self portraits, sharing all about me and others through Art and Math, learning and demonstrating belonging on a daily basis, welcoming new students (Lexi, Georgie, Izzy, Frankie and Sam), discovering all about frogs and how to care for them, visiting the Waipara River, Pirate Day, Easter Hunts and creating digital pepeha - feeling tired anyone?
Stand outs as a teacher is the belonging we show towards each other and seeing children happy, content and enjoying school. I'm super proud of how Kōwhai tamariki have embraced Structured Literacy as we navigate our journey and learn together. It's fantastic to see the confidence and progress children are making and ability to not only read words but hear the sounds and write them down!
The digital pepeha that children created with their Matai buddies has been published and I will email parents both a pdf and audio of their pepeha to read and celebrate - they did amaze me with their learning.
A huge thank you to Kōwhai parents for all of your support this term. It's been challenging at times but with us all working together as a team, your child's learning will go from strength to strength.
Enjoy your school holidays, spend quality moments with your children and stay safe. See you next term, e noho rā.
