Tena koutou e ngā whānau o te kura.

Good afternoon everyone!

My newsletter this week, is solely focused on the recent sporting achievements our students have been involved in. I begin by congratulating our two senior Canterbury Primary Schools triathlon competitors Nixon and Zahra who competed last week and both achieved admirable results. We are extremely proud of you both!

On the topic of champions, Reiko placed first in her age group at the recently held Canterbury Children’s Athletic Championships. She won every event that she participated in and her favorite event was: ‘probably the 100m’. She can be very proud of all of her achievements, tino pai!

The junior school triathlon last week was a great success. Well done to all of our competitors. Even when the chains came off some of the bikes, out tamariki kept running and finished their events- great perseverance. Thank you to all of the parents and caregivers who could make this fantastic event.

Yesterday, the 2025 ‘Small schools swimming sports’ were held down at the Amberley Community Pool and again our students really excelled. Next week on Thursday, the  Kowai event will be held. Good luck to all of the swimmers who will be competing at this next level.

That just about brings an end to the majority of the Term 1 sporting activities for our children.

Have a wonderful weekend with your family and friends everyone!

Ahiahi pai
