Tena koutou e ngā whānau o te kura.

Good afternoon everyone, at last it is beginning to feel like summer has arrived!

Firstly, it was fantastic to see such a wonderful turnout at our ‘community assembly’ last Friday. Our Tamariki were focused and displayed wonderful ‘Belonging’ skills throughout the assembly, tino pai! Kōwhai class shared some great ‘kindness’ learning with everyone which was a definite highlight during the assembly.

A large number of our students have experienced their first ‘Monster Music’ lessons this week. The initial feedback has been very positive and for a number of those participating, they really enjoyed the opportunity to begin their musical learning journey!

Next week, we look forward to our junior school triathlon and we also have a couple of senior entries who have made it to the Canterbury Primary Schools triathlon. We wish all competitors in both events, the very best. Thank you to Ms Dickson for her organisational efforts for both of these events. The junior triathlon is certainly a highlight for me in Term 1. Our junior Tamariki are always so excited and fun to watch! See you there.

A number of our school clubs are starting up again. Our Year 4-8 runners club is set to resume next week as are our chess and comic clubs too. Leaders of these clubs will be advertising them to students over the coming days.

Looking ahead, we have our ‘small schools swimming sports’ coming up in a couple of weeks and then the Kowai event after this. It is certainly busy!

Have a wonderful weekend with your family and friends everyone!

Ahiahi pai
