Sickness at School
NOTE: All absences are to be notified to the school via Hero, the website or the absence line, with a reason for the absence.
It is that time of year when sniffles, coughs, sneezes and other illnesses become all too common at school.
While we understand the desire to ensure continuity in education, we do want to remind all parents and guardians of the importance of keeping sick children at home. This is crucial for their recovery and prevents the spread of illness to others.
Attached is the Infectious Diseases Information and Exclusion list available from the Ministry of Health. Let's work together to maintain a healthy environment by following these guidelines. Note that if your child has experienced vomiting, they need to stay home, and be clear for 48 hours before returning to school.
Additionally, we encourage all parents and guardians to reinforce good hygiene practices with their children, including regular handwashing, covering mouths and noses when coughing or sneezing, and avoiding close contact with individuals who are sick.
