Room 19 Camp writing
Using the model The town was usual enough by James K Baxter Room 19 authors have shared their Camp experience.
The camp was usual enough; it had
A lake, a chef, a flying fox, an instructor
In the grounds, and even a water slide
I always went to. My friends, my teachers and I
Did what other people have done - swimming in the freezing
Cold pool, splashing water, shooting arrows, cooking dampas,
Swam like dolphins through the misty water without goggles,
Getting out of the pool, what great relief
Walking back to our peaceful cabins
A really fun experience.

Camp
The camp was unusual enough , it had
A cabin, a giant dining place, a clean pool a water slide
At camp, and even a big muddy lake
I went to. My three teachers, my friends and I
Did what everyone did - went down the
Waterslide, shot arrows using a heavy bow,ate the brilliant
food, crept like rabbits through the black
tunnels at the playground with a stone torch.
Burnt hot camp-cooking yummy or disgusting.
Doing fun things.

The camp was usual enough; it had
a brown lake, a slippery water slide, a flying fox,
mid-sized cabins, and even a wooden chapel.
My friends , my classmates and I did what boys do.
We shot the plastic arrows with the wooden bows
under the dark wood shed, jumped off a raft,
drifted through the water on the kayaks,
climbed rock walls, splashed or swam.
Doing everything brilliant.

The camp was unusual enough; it had a bush walk, a lake, a pool, it even had a waterslide I never went to. My friends, teachers and parents did what we mostly do, we went to our cabins, we made food, rafts and swimming, jumped over the acid water holding on to the rope through the acid water. Some fell in or got to the other side.
Doing nothing but fun.

The camp was usual enough, it had an Archery range, an enormous climbing wall, a station with an absolutely amazing campfire for making yummy dampas, a gigantic lake for raft building, kayaking inside the camp, and even had a big dusty paintball area that I never went to. My friends, teachers and I, did what normal school children did - splashed around the lake, walked relaxedly on the bush walk trail, pulled bow string back, played happily on the playground, read books quietly in our cabin, nearly burnt dampas, or swam in the lake,
Doing nothing boring.

The adventures of camp Ngaruawahia
The camp was unusual enough, it had a lake, swimming pool, pond and a little section of mini-golf, it even had a paintball field, but we weren't allowed to go there. My friend Noah and I did what boys do-laid in the hot sun, shot arrows at archery, crept like ants through the little playground, cooked dampa on sticks, made a large whirlpool in the pool, and sang chants on the way to camp on the bus.
Just relaxing and having fun.
