June planting guide
Let's see what to plant in June.
June is the time to plant winter greens. Think also about garlic, fruit trees and roses.
Winter veges such as cauli, broccoli as well as beetroot, kale, silverbeet and herbs can be planted now.
Garlic is usually planted on the shortest day of the year which is June 21 and then harvested on the longest day - 6 months later.
If you are interested more in planting fruit trees then now is a good time for apple, plum, pear, peach and nectarines.
As for flowers - winter roses (hellebores), pansies and violas, primula and polyanthus will provide a sprinkle of colour if you plant them now.
