Exciting rugby for BBPS

Hi my name is Fletcher and I had a rugby game on Sunday.

When we got to the grounds, we had to all line up. The coach did a head count, and we realised we were missing a player. Luckily, we were able to add Corban’s little brother, Dylan, who also plays rugby.

The organisers gave the team a rugby ball to play with, which we brought back to school with us.

Our first game started off really badly, we were all pretty nervous and I got a fright when someone from the other team tackled me really hard. My friend Corban got hurt twice.

We played a lot better in the second game, and Evan scored a try. I played better as well, and tackled a lot more times.

By the third and final game, our team were getting tired, and we had to sub players off. Unfortunately, we lost this game as well.

We got to take photos with some of the Auckland Blues players as a team. That was a highlight of the day. We have been invited to play at Eden Park on Friday night at half-time when the Blues are playing the Highlanders as part of the Super Rugby Pacific competition. We are all very excited to represent our school at this event.  By Fletcher
