Valentines Day - we get romantic with Cabbages and butterflies!
Valentines Day wishes were created in the Library on Tuesday with a project from our Head Cabbages aka Head Prefects.
Students flocked to the Library at lunchtime to relax and enjoy each others company while colouring messages of love and friendship for their own special valentines. Music, treats and good vibes were evident in plenty as everyone relaxed and got creative over the lunch break.
Also on Valentines Day, the Library became a temporary birthing unit. A colleague brought in a swan plant stick with a darkened chrysalis hanging from it. Great excitement as within a short time, the chrysalis began moving and out came a wrinkled and tired looking Monarch butterfly. It spent an hour or so quietly sitting there pumping its wings and getting an outlook on the world around it. Things were definitely not looking like they did when it went into its cosy cocoon! As the butterfly began to look stronger, we transferred it onto a ward - otherwise known as a rosemary bush in the Horticulture garden over by J-Block. Baby appeared to be doing well as we left it there.
