This year we had five finalists chosen over two categories for the 2023 Zonta Sports Awards.

The five finalists were:

Max Wallace - Hockey Umpire - Category: Contribution to Sports Administration

Indie Lewis - Ice Hockey Umpire/Manager/Coach Assistant - Category: Contribution to Sports Administration

Penelope Yang - Powerlifting - Category: Most Outstanding Achievement in One Sport

Ellie Zhang (pictured above) - Table Tennis - Category: Most Outstanding Achievement in One Sport

Hamish Giddens - Swimming - Category: Most Outstanding Achievement in One Sport

The Zonta Sports Awards Dinner, to pick the winner of each category, was held on Thursday 26 October at the Hornby Club Events Centre. Unfortunately this date clashed with the Year 13 Graduation ceremony at the Town Hall, so only Ellie and Indie could attend with me. And, unfortunately we had no winners on the night, but just becoming a finalist is a huge achievement in itself. So congratulations to our five incredible students with this achievement.
