Canterbury ki te Raki regional Shakespeare Festival

Kate Olliver —

On Saturday 27th March a group of Burnside High School senior Drama students attended the Canterbury ki te Raki regional Shakespeare Festival which took place at Middleton Grange School.

We won awards for the Best combat scene, and for creating the "Most Cohesive World". We entered two scenes, one from Romeo and Juliet and another from Shakespeare's Henry 4th part 3. Lily Reed 13OLK was also awarded Best Supporting Actress for her role as Northumberland, and Hayden McWha 13KNC was awarded the best overall performance for his role as York, which puts him through to the National Globe tryouts which are held in Wellington in October.
