Entertainment Technology New Zealand (ETNZ) is an organisation which helps support technicians, craft persons and designers working in the entertainment industry.

 ENTZ sponsors a yearly award the Musical Societies throughout New Zealand to promote the development of technical excellent in their musical productions.

This year’s Youth Award (under 25years of age) went to ex Burnside High student - Andrew McCabe.

Andrew was in the Burnside High Technical Crew from 2014 to 2018, and while studying at Canterbury University he has regularly returned to help with our weekly after-school crew training. Since 2017 he has been a volunteer with Showbiz working as Stage Crew, Flyman and Assistant Stage Manager. He has been identified as someone with a strong work ethic, the willingness to learn and pass on his knowledge, and with leadership skills. Congratulations Andrew!
