This year BHS has three cast members in the Youth Company performance of the “Sweet Science of Bruising” written by Joy Wilkinson and directed by Joy Chappell and Tom Eason. This play examined the lives of four young Victorian women Controlled by men and constrained by corsets, who are drawn into the dark underground world of female boxing. The ring becomes a place where their lives, decisions and futures are in their own hands for the first time.

Hayden Mcwha (BHS 2020), Maghen Clark ( BHS 2022) and Riley Spencer Y13 took center stage in what was a thoroughly provoking, gruesome at times and throughout entertaining trip through the streets of Victorian London.
