World Scholars Cup Tournament of Champions
Burnside is very proud of the three year 9 students who qualified for and competed in the World Scholars Cup Tournament of Champions at Yale University .
A great time was had in the US at Yale University, at the World Scholars Cup Tournament of Champions.There were 2500 competitors from 74 countries.The Burnside students were competing with students up to the age of eighteen.The three person team of Lucia Guo 9SHTR, Conor McCullough 9WRIC and Ameya Raut 9SOSC were awarded the following medals.
Team silver medals were won by all three students in Debating, Collaborative Writing Scholars Bowl- which covered Science, History, Social Studies Arts and Music Literature and a Special Study - Unsolved Mysteries.

Ameya Raut Gold medal for Debating
Lucia Guo Gold medal for Unsolved Mysteries Scholars Challenge.
All three won individual silver medals for Writing. Each wrote about their favourite academic challenge. Lucia wrote on Unsolved Mysteries, Conor wrote on Science and Ameya wrote on Arts and Music.
Fantastic results I am sure you would agree.
Other highlights were the Boston trip in the snow where we visited MIT and Harvard. The students were thoroughly inspired by these visits!
