Win For BHS League of Legends team!

Mr Cresswell —

Our competitive League of Legends team completed the National High School League and came out on top of the Challenger Division!

The weekly matches of the regular season culminated in a knock out styled tournament that had the grand prize of a trophy and a Logitech G Pro Wireless mouse each. After a gruelling set of Bo3 matches BHS made it to the finals to face off against the Mount Albert Grammar School team. This match was set to be a three game series with the first to two wins taking the final and its grand prize; however, BHS - NoEgo exerted their dominance to take the finals in two quick games all whilst being live streamed. With the competition suitably stomped and the prizes secured, the team packed up their setups just in time for a celebratory dinner and after dinner study session.

Burnside E-Sports club

At the Burnside E-Sports club (every Tuesday and Thursday after school), students are able to participate in online team-oriented activities. Here, we have established an environment largely based around team-work and positivity; the classroom experience mirrors an open and supportive space where students are encouraged to have fun whilst building up strategies and gameplans with their peers. In this social community, students from different year levels have the opportunity to develop valuable relationships with each other; senior mentors assist in the care of the younger students and members are able to fine-tune their interactions with their peers. They have the opportunity to connect with other students who share similar interests. These interactions may form the basis for enduring friendships.
