In Term 1, we had 4 teams entered into the Mainland Football Canterbury Secondary Schools’ Futsal competition:

Boys Junior

Boys Senior A

Boys Senior B

Girls Senior

The teams played at various school gyms around Christchurch for the 6 weeks of competition games.

NZ Secondary Schools Futsal Championships:

This year, on 19-20 March, our Senior Girls team travelled to Wellington, to participate in the NZ Secondary Schools’ Girls Futsal Championships. Accompanyed by coach, Charlotte Merkin, and manager, Mrs Prosser (PE Teacher), the girls had a great time at their first-ever national tournament. Thanks to Charlotte and Mrs Prosser for their time and energy on ensuring this trip went ahead smoothly.

In Term 4, we only had one team entered into the Mainland Football Canterbury Secondary Schools’ Futsal competition, due to the seniors leaving school in Week 3.

The Junior Boys team played in the social Junior Boys grade at English Park for the 6-week competition, and thanks to Mr Poole Smith who offered to look after these boys as their manager/coach, the boys are enjoying their games, and are even training one lunchhour a week to improve their skills. Thanks to the parents who have to get their own child, and some others sometimes, to English Park for the games!
