Rowing 2020/21

Sports Office —

All our rowers and head coach Christina Blackford, in her first year with the squad, had an amazing season. After the disappointment of last year's cancellation, the highlight of the season was attending Maadi Cup at Lake Karapiro. Not only was this an amazing experience for our rowers, they achieved some outstanding results.

Golds at Maadi Cup!

The squad had an incredibly successful week at Lake Karapiro in March. They finished 12th overall out of 123 schools nationwide and at the end of Term 1 were ranked 5th on the nationwide sculling boat points table.

The squad won 3 medals - 2 gold, the first golds in 23 years for Burnside High School, and the first medals of any kind in 10 years:

Gold - Sam Rankin and Kate Ryall, U15 Girls Double Sculls
