Hille Janssen

Mark Ealey —

2018 International Rugby Programme Female MVP

Hille Janssen has been with us for two seasons. In 2017 she was a mainstream international student doing some IRP sessions, but in 2018 she was fully in the IRP.  Hille is an impressive young lady - superb as a leader in the group, always looking to help to ensure that things ran smoothly and always giving her absolute best.

As a player she worked really hard to identify her work-ons  and then to fix them through self-driven effort. As a result Hille grew hugely, standing out in all her games for the girls' team and for her club team, University of Canterbury Women. Despite being just 17 years of age, she featured prominently in the women's club final, making several strong carries and winning her team valuable lineout ball.

Hille's unerring effort will no doubt pay off in her future, both as a rugby player at the top level and as someone who understands that hard work and ongoing dedication to the task at hand will bear fruit. She is a thoroughly deserving MVP in 2018.
