This year fencing at Burnside has been an amazing experience for all, opening up various opportunities for all our fencers from social bouting, to national competitions.

Fencing has given students the opportunity to have fun, learn, practice and compete with others inside of a positive and friendly environment. Our weekly sessions in the dance hall always give students fun and new experiences that have benefited them both physically and socially, creating many new connections for students around their peers.

This year Burnside had the privilege of sending a number of our fencers up north for national secondary schools as well as having our fencers represented at many regional and club competitions throughout the year.

Each fencer at the school has had their own special place in the club where they have found out how much they can achieve with the help of our fantastic coach Sheldon.

Overall fencing at Burnside has been a highlight of this year with everyone involved getting the most out of what the club has to offer. With the number of opportunities we had this year we cannot wait to see what happens next.
