Between the 29th of August and the 1st of September, three students from Burnside high school competed in the South Island Secondary Schools Equestrian Championships.

This event was held over tournament week and included different equestrian disciplines. Gus Davies did well in the 10km trail ride and in the Arena Eventing. Lil Organo was competitive in the level one and two dressage on her new horse. Lucia Shanks placed well in dressage, showjumping, arena eventing and won her show hunter class and a trophy for best rider in show hunter. Overall everyone was happy with themselves and had a fun week.
