Mount Lyford Ski Trip

Ellena Firth and Noah Hartley —

2019 - the year of the best ski trip that 12PED has ever seen

With some killer skiing and some spectacular snowboarding, we had a heck of a time!

From the 19th to the 23rd of August Mrs Sharapoff,  Mr Manners and Miss Delaney along with a few other helping hands, had the pleasure of going on the Year 12 ski trip with arguably the best lot of year 12’s this school has ever seen. The group took off early Monday morning and had a pearla of a day to start carving up the mountain with.

Day 2 brought almost whiteout conditions with very strong winds but no one let this stop the fun. The field was closed but the learners' slope was open. It was a split of people practising their skills and people who trotted off to the toboggans. There was also a chair making competition with Ella McLeod winning and scoring a mattress for the night. The skiers became more comfortable in and outside the lodge with a lovely pie and chips for lunch and being accompanied by the many dogs of Lyford.

Day 3 was another stunner of a day and it was all on for young and old as assessments were coming ever closer. The students did their best and checked out later that afternoon to head back home after what can only be described as, an unmissable, exceptional trip, with some awesome skiing and some spectacular snowboarding, we had a heck of a time!
