Student lifting success at South Island

Last month, nine Burnside students competed at the World Powerlifting NZ South island championships with great results. Achievements included an unofficial national deadlift record of 150kg in the under 62kg class for Steven Ye 13PZS and best junior female lifter awarded to Penny Yang 12NSYA

Excellent lifting was displayed by new novice lifters Alex Dubery 12SCTH and Isabella Bray-Lim 9WWIC.

National level totals were achieved by three students new to the Burnside team - Steven Ye 13PZS, Callum Maule 13SFK and Tom Hoang 13GMT. These students along with four others will compete at Nationals in Wellington in August.
