Grant Jackson joins us from Edinburgh for six months

Mark Ealey —

Scottish lock-loosie looks forward to the 2018 rugby season as a Burnside High School player.

Grant Jackson has arrived from George Watson's College, a co-educational school in Edinburgh, Scotland for a six-month long overseas exchange experience. He has been playing rugby for about ten years and describes himself as standing out more in defence than in attack. Grant sounds like the sort of hard-working tight-forward that every team needs.

The Hastings brothers, Scott and Gavin, are famous old boys of his school.  His favourite player is Scottish and British Lions international fullback Stuart Hogg. Hopefully he will have become a Crusaders and All Blacks fan by the time he returns to Scotland in August.

We extend a warm welcome to Grant and look forward to adding some New Zealand handling and decision-making ability to his skill-set. But most of all of course, we hope that he really enjoys his time here and makes many lasting friendships.
